10/4/2023 0 Comments 90s metal mosh pit![]() Moshing is a communal expression of heightened emotion. Moshing, on the other hand, that's something different. They throw fists, swing 'bows, dropkick babies, whatever the fuck they can, because they thing it's 'hardcore' or 'raging.' And it's fucked up. It's basically moshing for pussies who don't know what actual moshing is. It's slam-dancing, an abomination that infected the metal scene with the rise of hardcore / grindcore / etc. I seriously go to less bass music events just because bro fratguys are ruining my experience and I have to move to the back of the venue just to avoid getting beat up by these jagoffs. Please, please, PLEASE stop moshing if you do. It's electronic dance music, and moshing in tiny enclosed spaces at an event for EDM is rude, disrespectful, dangerous and just plain stupid. It isn't a fucking punk show, it isn't a metal show. A few people got black eyes or drinks spilled all over them. Over and over again, hitting girls in the chest and stomach, knocking people over who were trying to get away and just enjoy the experience. Out of the 300~ people in the crowd, probably 15 people tried moshing. I went to an Excision/Dirtyphonics show recently and it was way worse than usual. Now I am all for people having a good time at these events: you can dance, sing, drink, sit, stand wherever and however you want - until you start ruining other peoples' time! As they push harder and drunker and angrier, the momentum of their push goes through the whole crowd and practically everyone in the venue gets knocked over or smashed or just annoyed constantly because a few bad idiots wanted to RAGE. All of a sudden 15 sweaty douchebags who only know of Skrillex and DeadmauFive start pushing, elbowing and hitting everyone around them because they're "RAGING BRO". You're in the crowd, maybe with friends, maybe with a girl/boyfriend, maybe just you and your drink. Monthly Releases - please note that these are done fairly inconsistently due to low levels of activity!Īnyone who's gone to DnB, Trap or Dubstep shows has definitely experienced this.
